I’m really pleased that my friend Laura who is a fabulous yoga teacher will be joining us for the next 3 weeks offering online yoga classes. Laura has a wealth of experience having taught yoga in India,Thailand, New Zealand and the UK. Laura is a ‘proper’ yoga teacher.
In her own words…
After experiencing yoga for the first time in 2013 on the beaches of Australia, I instantly fell in love! I liked the changes that yoga brought to me, not just the physical changes that came from being on the mat but also the more profound changes that came in my daily life. Since that first moment, I have been continually developing my personal yoga practice, studying and learning from great teachers all over the world .
In 2015, after studying intensely and practicing yoga in India, I took the plunge and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training course there. Since then I have been lucky enough to combine my two passions, traveling and yoga, and have been able to teach in a number of countries including Thailand, India, New Zealand and UK. After returning to India in 2018 I completed a further 300 hours YTTC with my teacher in Kerala.
My teaching reflects a more traditional style of Hatha yoga, with strong influences from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the traditional Sivananda school. During my classes I bring a focus on mindfulness and movement with the breath throughout, incorporating asana, pranayama (breath control) and meditation into the class. I also aim to teach the philosophy and spiritual side of yoga that can often get lost in this modern world to enable people to bring the benefits of yoga off the mat and into their daily lives.
